Employee injured when arm caught in chain and sprocket drive

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on April 1, 1996, Employee #1, of Grimway Enterprises, Inc., was checking the Nubbin-Reel carrot machine for debris while it was in motion. His right hand and arm were fractured when they became caught in the chain and sprocket drive. Employee #1 was transported by private vehicle to Memorial Hospital, Bakersfield, CA. He was then transferred to Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Van Nuys, CA, where he was admitted for treatment.
