Employee's hand caught in molding machine

At approximately 3:19 p.m. on December 28, 1991, Employee #1, of D-P Enterprises, Inc., was cleaning the cores on an Engel plastic injection molding machine. All safety devices on the machine were, and are, operating effectively. Employee #1 did not change the machine's operation to manual, but left it on automatic. Employee #1 leaned over to clean one of the cores and his body pushed the micro switch, activating the molding machine. His hand was caught in the machine. Employee #1 was treated at the Pleasant Valley Hospital Emergency Room and released.
