Employee injured when crushed by tomato harvester

At approximately 5:55 p.m. on August 3, 1990, Employee #1 was cleaning debris from a tomato harvester conveyor belt. As the harvester reached the end row, the operator began to turn around to continue harvesting the next row. The harvester came too close to the edge of an irrigation canal and overturned. Employee #1 was pinned underneath the vehicle and suffered serious abdominal injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, CA.
