Investigation Summary

At 10:50 on December 11, 1992, Employee #1, of Cabin Creek Woodworks, was making a 27 degree angle cut on a 3 in. by 3/4 in. by 8 ft long oak board. As he completed the cut using a push stick with his left hand, the outside piece fell into the blade. He reached with his right hand to push the outside piece away and his middle fingertip was quickly caught with the drop off piece by the saw blade. About 1/4 in. of the fingertip was amputated at an angular cut, including about half of the fingernail.
