Employee injured in fall from wood cart

At approximately 9:40 a.m. on November 20, 1990, Employee #1, age 20, needed to change the belt on a time-saver shovel. The belts were stored on the top shelf of the storage rack, 8 ft above the floor. In front of the storage shelf was a 2 ft by 4 ft by 9 in. wood cart on which was an approximately 7 in. stack of floor swivel casters and wood parts. Employee #1 was standing on this cart to reach the storage shelf when he fell. He was admitted to Santa Rosa Community Hospital with head injuries. Employee #1 had 4 years of wood shop in high school and had worked for another company for 2 years before coming to Classic Mill and Cabinet about 2 months before the accident. He had received instructions on the wood machinery that he was using.
