Employee's leg injured when caught in conveyor shear point

Employee #1 climbed onto a conveyor table to clear a jam on the unscrambler, which consisted of drag chains with metal bars between them. His leg became caught in the shear point created by the metal bars. Employee #1 had not stopped the conveyor before attempting to clear it. If a chain had not broken, his leg would likely have been amputated.
