Employee injured when ladder section falls on toe

On September 23, 1990, Employee #1, an airline mechanic, was using a sliding section ladder attached to a hydrant service truck. For some reason, as the platform to which the ladder was attached was lowered, part of the three-section ladder became stuck in a slightly raised position. As Employee #1 descended the ladder, he dislodged the stuck section. It fell into its locating groove, striking and bruising his toe.
