Employee fractures ankle in fall from truck

At approximately 12:40 p.m. on September 1, 1990, Employee #1, of Apolo Roofing was dumping roofing waste materials at Browning Ferris Industries Co. in San Carlos, CA. He was unaware of the distance to the edge of the truck and stepped backward. He fell approximately 8 ft to the concrete. Employee #1 fractured his left ankle and bruised his left brow. He was taken to Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, where he underwent two major operations on his ankle.
