Employee's hand caught between forklift mast and fork

At or about 1:00 p.m. on May 7, 1991, Employee #1 had just finished unloading a truck. He descended from the bed of the truck and stood next to a 2,000 lb, battery-operated Big Joe forklift, serial # 331466. As the product was being unloaded from the tines, Employee #1 put his right hand on the forklift's mast. Subsequently, his hand was caught between the tine housing and the mast. Suffering lacerations and a fracture of the right hand, he was transported to Los Madianos Hospital, where he received stitches and was released.
