12 employees injured during explosion

At approximately 1:18 a.m. on March 12, 1991, an explosion and fire occurred in the oxide recovery system #1 and the control room. Twelve employees, working in and about the oxide recovery system #1 and control room, were injured when they were thrown by the blast's force or struck by flying debris. Employees #1 through #12 were treated and released from the hospital.
