Employee killed when struck on back by tree

Employee #1 was felling trees on a tract of land. The other trees in the area had been cut. When Employee #1 notched a 25 in. in diameter tree it fell toward the open area where the other trees had fallen. As the tree fell, Employee #1 turned and walked in the opposite direction. The falling tree turned and fell from the stump, causing the body of the tree to strike the stump, which propelled the butt of the tree toward Employee #1's back. The tree struck Employee #1 on the lower back, killing him.
