Employee killed when crushed by marble slabs

Employees working in a stone storage yard removed securing braces from six, 5 ft by 6 ft marble slabs that were stored in an upright position. One employee was picking up wood braces while Employee #1 moved into the space between the stones. The vertical 2 in. by 4 in. by 6 ft brace could not support the weight of the slabs and they fell over onto Employee #1, crushing him to death.
