Event: 01/22/1995
ELECTRIC SHOCK - DIRECT CONTACT WITH ENERGIZED PARTS

An electrician was working on a switchgear in a substation. He was repairing a switchgear for a compressor so that a reactor blower could be put back into service. The electrician opened the door to the switchgear and apparently energized the switch while the door was open. His right index finger contacted a 2300-volt fuse, and he was electrocuted.
