Event: 12/08/1997
Employee injured when crushed in lift arms of skid loader

At approximately 3:00 p.m. on December 8, 1997, a truck driver boarded a Bobcat skid-steer loader to move it out of the way of Employee #1's forklift. The coworker had not received training on operation of the skid loader. As he moved the vehicle forward, the forks began to rise. and the coworker asked Employee #1 for help in lowering them. Employee #1 was standing under the raised forks when he reached into the cab to press the release button. The lift arms descended, crushing him against the body of the Bobcat. Employee #1 sustained injuries that required hospitalization.
