Employee killed when struck by rolling boulder

On February 26, 1996, Employee #1 and three coworkers, all members of a trail crew at the Grand Canyon National Park, were clearing trails and building stairs. Another employee working on a trail above them lost control of a 200 lb boulder. It rolled down and struck Employee #1 in the back. He sustained massive internal injuries and died on February 28, 1996.
