Employee killed, others injured by falling pallets

At 6:00 a.m. on or about July 6, 1992, employees entering a plant noticed that a pallet of Gatorade had fallen. The employees were asked to clean up the area and put the product on another pallet. Employee #1 was summoned from the other side of the plant to assist in this clean-up. She and four coworkers were putting the product on another pallet when two more pallets fell onto her and one of the coworkers. Employee #1 sustained severe injuries to her head, back and legs. She was taken to Orlando Regional Hospital where she died three days later. The coworker sustained two broken legs, broken ribs and a possible concussion. Three other employees sustained minor injuries and were not hospitalized..
