Employee killed in fall while descending tree

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on April 11, 1990, Employee #1, a tree climber, was at the end of his work shift and making his descent from the top of a 52 in. diameter sugar pine tree. Employee #1 was making final adjustments to the Prossick knot on his climbing rope when he fell approximately 126 in. to the ground. He died on the way to the hospital.
