EMPLOYEE INJURED IN FALL FROM STEPLADDER

AT APPROXIMATELY 2 PM ON NOVEMBER 19, 1986, EMPLOYEE #1 WAS STANDING ON THE TOP OF AN 8 FOOT HIGH WOODEN STEP LADDER, ATTEMPTING TO PLUMB UP AND CHALK A LINE FOR A TOP PLATE. THE PLATE WAS TO BE ATTACHED TO THE BOTTOM OF SOME JOISTS LOCATED 10 TO 14 FEET ABOVE THE CONCRETE FLOOR. THE EMPLOYEE WAS WORKING NEXT TO AN 8 FOOT HIGH WALL AND SUSPENDED CEILING. THE EMPLOYEE FELL OVER THE WALL, THROUGH THE SUSPENDED CEILING AND LANDED ON THE CARPET-COVERED CONCRETE FLOOR BELOW. THE EMPLOYEE WAS HOSPITALIZED WITH HEAD AND NECK INJURIES.
