TREE FELL ONTO EMPLOYEE

AN ELECTRIC UTILITY EMPLOYEE WAS CUTTING A TREE AS PART OF A RIGHT-OF-WAY CLEARING PROJECT. THE TREE HAS WAS CUTTING SPLIT ABOUT 11 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND. THE EMPLOYEE'S SAW HUNG UP IN THE TREE; AND, AS HE TRIED TO FREE THE SAW, THE TREE SNAPPED FROM THE STUMP. THE TREE FELL ON THE EMPLOYEE, WHO DIED AS A RESULT OF THE INJURIES HE SUSTAINED IN THE ACCIDENT.
