THE EMPLOYEE HAD WORKED AT HIS PRESENT JOB SINCE AUGUST 24, 1987. THE HANGAR DOOR WAS CONTROLLED BY TWO SEPARATE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS THAT WERE NOT INTERLOCKED OR OTHERWISE DESIGNED SO THAT ONE SYSTEM COULD NOT OVERRIDE THE OTHER.
