Investigation Summary
At 8:30 a.m. on November 10, 2013, and employee was processing some coil scrap a t one of the two bun areas in the scrap yard. The steel coil was approximately 26,000 pounds with a thickness approximately 0.124 and width approximately 58.5. The steel coil was contained by banding and set into position by a Senebogen 82 5 telehandler. The employee was struck in the chest when the coil violently spra ng from it's holder. The employee was killed from the trauma.
