CAUGHT BETWEEN LIFTS

EMPLOYEE #1 WAS PREPARING TO JUMP START A MATERIALS HANDLING LIFT, USING ANOTHER LIFT AS A POWER SOURCE. HE DISMOUNTED THE JUMPER LIFT, LEAVING IT IN GEAR AND THE ENGINE IDLING. HE CLIMBED BETWEEN THE REAR WHEELS OF THE TWO LIFTS TO CONNECT THE JUMPER CABLES. FINDING THAT THE CABLES WOULD NOT REACH BETWEEN THE TWO BATTERIES, HE STARTED BACK TO THE OPERATORS STATION TO BACK THE LIFT SOME MORE. AS HE CLIMBED BACK BETWEEN THE WHEELS, THE ENGINE SURGED. THE LIFT ROLLED BACKWARDS, PINNING EMPLOYEE #1 BETWEEN THE FRONT OF THE REAR WHEEL OF THE LIFT HE WAS GOING TO JUMP START AND THE REAR OF THE OPERATOR'S STATION OF THE LIFT HE WAS GOING TO USE AS A POWER SOURCE.
