Employee's Eye Is Struck by Flying Object and Is Injured

At approximately 3:00 p.m. on January 28, 2014, Employee #1 was using a sledgehammer to remove a pin from a tractor. As he struck the pin, a piece of material flew and struck one of his eyes. Employee #1 was transported to a medical center, where he underwent treatment and was hospitalized for one night. Afterwards, he was then transferred to another hospital. At this hospital, he received additional treatment and remained hospitalized for more than 24 hours.
