Employee Is Injured When Vehicle Rolls Into Ravine

On August 12, 2013, an employee was driving up a private roadway to perform landscape maintenance at the land owner's residence when the Ford pickup truck he was driving lost power and rolled backwards down into a ravine. The accident site was not discovered for approximately two hours when the truck was noticed by an additional housekeeper. The employee was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and eventually transferred to the Stanford Medical Center, where he was admitted for multiple spinal fractures without paralysis.
