Employee Suffers Injures When Struck by Beam

At approximately 3:19 p.m. on September 3, 2013, Employee #1 and coworkers were done on the jobsite and were wrapping up demolition hauling for the day. Employee #1 was leaving the building towards the main entrance when a 19 ft by 15 in. wooden beam along with the wooden braces that supported the beam fell with a sling, and wrapped around the employee's right arm. The beam bounced back and struck Employee #1's shoulder blade. The beam landed on an old metal box, which struck the employee's head. Employee #1 was taken to an area hospital, where he was treated for bruises to his right shoulder and arm. The employee was also, treated for a mild concussion. Employee #1 was released on September 5, 2013.
