Event: 12/28/2013
Employee Falls from Ladder and Is Injured

At approximately 1:00 p.m. on December 28, 2013, Employee #1 was climbing a fixed ladder. As he climbed, he lost his balance while reaching for the vertical handhold. Employee #1 fell approximately 20 ft and struck the ground. He sustained serious injuries in the fall, which included a fractured hip, ankle and wrist. Emergency medical personnel were summoned. The fire department arrived and transported him back to their building. Paramedics arrived at the fire department and transported him to a medical center, where he underwent surgery and was then hospitalized for postoperative treatment and care.
