High School Coach Dies after Falling on Icy Sidewalk

On December 30, 20913, an employee was working as a high school swimming coach in Rockford, Illinois. He was entering a school building on a Saturday to prepare for a swim meet later that day. The area had experienced an ice storm the previous night, and many of the entrances were coated with ice. As the coach was walking up the exterior steps to enter the facility, he slipped and fell. He hit his head on the sidewalk. He was hospitalized. He died nine days later. The injury line gives the nature of the injury as amputation.
