Carpenter Amputates Part of Thumb on Table Saw

At approximately12:20 p.m. on November 7, 2012, Employee #1, a 27-year-old male carpenter with Kings Residential Limited Partnership was cutting a board on an 8 in. Mikita table saw and his finger came in contact with the blade. Employee #1 received a partial amputation of his left thumb in the event. Employee #1 was performing his normal work duties as a laborer and carpenter when the event occurred. The Employer stated that they did not call and report the injury to CalOSHA as they were not aware of the requirement.
