Employee Receives Foot Contusion from Falling Tray

At approximately 11:45 a.m. on April 25, 2013, Employee #1, a candy maker, dropped a metal tray on his foot and sustained a contusion. The metal tray weighed approximately 14 lbs. A coworker, a forklift operator, seen Employee #1 shaking his foot and asked him what happen. Employee #1 continued to work the rest of the day. On the next day, he reported the injury to his supervisor and then to the human resources department. Employee #1 was sent to a health care office then to one medical center and then another. At the last medical center, he underwent care and then was hospitalized. Employee #1 was a diabetic and the employer believed that the hospital checked his other medical issues.
