Employee Sustains Some Finger Lacerations and Amputation

At approximately 1:30 p.m., on January 16, 2013, Employee #1 of W L Rubottom Company suffered a serious occupational injury when he made contact with four dado saw blades on the unguarded Delta Table Saw, Serial Number 89E26293, Cat. No. 34-806. Employee #1 was modifying a cabinet and was testing the dado cut depth with a sample piece of lumber. Employee #1 was adjusting the blade with the table saw on and pushing the sample piece through the dado blades. The piece of lumber kicked out of the table saw and Employee #1's left hand fingers made contact with the dado saw blades amputating his index and middle finger, and lacerating his ring and little finger on the left hand. Employee #1 was taken to Cottage hospital where was treated for two days.
