Investigation Summary
At approximately 7:30 a.m., on August 24, 2012, Employee #1 was trimming the top of the hedge along the west end of the school that his company services. He was walking along the top of the retaining wall approximately 5 feet above the ground and lost his footing. As he reached out to stop his fall, he accidentally grabbed the blades of his hedge trimmer (MFR: TMC Power Equipment Inc., E/No.: 588053) with his right hand instead of the hedge. Employee #1 was transported to Providence Holy Cross for treatment for deep lacerations and skiving of the bone on his middle and ring fingers for his right hand.
