Employee Lacerates Hand on Bandsaw

At approximately 5:45 p.m. on November 6, 2013, Employee #1 was using a horizontal bandsaw to cut round metal stock into 5 in. pieces. He raised the saw and left it running as he advanced the material through the saw to the next cut point. When advancing the stock for his last cut, his left hand made contact with the rotating blade, causing a laceration. Employee #1 was transported to a medical center, where he received treatment and was then hospitalized.
