Employee Hit by Jack Handle Is Unconscious, Jaw Broken

On June 21, 2012, Employee #1, with Ben's Truck Repair Inc., had completed work on a trailer's air bags (air shocks), and when he began to remove the jack stands, one of the stands slipped off the U-bolt upon which it was resting. Then, the trailer fell approximately 1 in. onto the jack, and the jack handle struck Employee #1 in the jaw. Employee #1 was knocked unconscious and transported to a nearby hospital. Then Employee #1 was air lifted to a regional hospital where he was admitted and surgery performed to repair a fractured jaw. Employee #1 was released the following day and returned to work in a normal capacity the following Monday.
