Investigation Summary
At approximately 8:07 a.m. on August 7, 2013, an employee was trimming, tree place at a residence. The employee was trimming a queen palm tree when he detached his metal rope line to climb higher up on the palm tree. In doing so, the employee was obstructed by a palm frond, which he decided to cut with his chainsaw. While cutting the palm frond, the employee accidentally cut through his rope that he was tied off to and fell down approximately 12 feet to the ground. The employee fractured his ribs, back and spinal pain. The employee was hospitalized and treated for his injuries.
