Employee's Leg Is Struck by Falling Object and Is Injured

At approximately 11:20 a.m. on March 5, 2014, Employee #1 was working at a facility that was involved with the installation of conveyor and racking systems. Employee #1 was installing an extendable conveyor bed (WASP, Inc., Model Number A225808D, Serial Number 224575) that was 9 ft long and 43 in. wide. With his left leg, he pushed on the conveyor bed to tried and straighten its front leg. The conveyor bed collapsed and fell on his left lower leg, fracturing it. Employee #1 was transported to a medical center, where he underwent medical procedures as well as additional treatment and was then hospitalized for four days.
