Employee Injures Eye When Welding Rod Falls from Conveyor

At approximately 10:00 p.m. on January 8, 2014, Employee #1 was working as an Operations Manager for FedEx Ground Packaging System Inc. The employee was clearing a jammed package located on the overhead conveyor. Employee #1 was positioned approximately 20 ft below the conveyor belt and used an extension tool (approximately 14ft long) to break the jam and free the package to continue traveling on the conveyor.
