Employee Fractures Shoulder in Trip and Fall Incident

At approximately 11:50 a.m. on February 07, 2014, Employee #1, a second grade teacher, was walking with a student outside of a theatre on a concrete floor. The student was going to fall and the employee tried to grab the student with her right arm. As Employee #1 walked forward, her left foot got tangled between the student's legs. The employee pushed the student to the right as she tripped and fell striking her left shoulder on the concrete floor. Employee #1 was taken to Kaiser Permanente Hospital, where she had surgery and was treated for a fracture to her left shoulder and was hospitalized for six days.
