Investigation Summary
At 10:15 a.m. on June 29, 2012, Employee #1, a real estate property manager of the Unire Real Estate Group Inc., was conducting a walk through inspection of the vacant warehousing facility prior to take possession from a former tenant whose lease had run out. During the survey, he was standing by a just opened bay door when he inadvertently stepped to his right, thinking that it was level ground or a sloped ramp, but he fell from an elevation of four feet onto the asphalt surface of the loading dock area. Upon landing, he sustained a serious fracture of his right pelvic bone and right elbow injuries. Initially, Employee #1 was transported to the Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Fontana, California for treatment. Then, he was sent to Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, California. Surgery was performed, and Employee #1 was hospitalized for several weeks.
