Employee Amputates Fingers in an Auger

At approximately 9:30 a.m. on August 8, 2011, Employee #1 was clearing spoiled corn chunks from a moving auger with his left hand. As he cleared the chucks, his hand became caught in the auger and the moving parts amputated his left pinky and ring fingers. Emergency medical personnel were summoned. Employee #1 was transported to a medical center, where he underwent treatment and was hospitalized.
