Investigation Summary
On September 14, 2012, Employee #1, a 38 year-old-male laborer with Martin Leon Construction, a general contractor and was building a swimming pool and deck as part of a residential remodeling project. Employee #1 was wheeling a load of cement in a wheel barrow to pour for decking. As Employee #1 began to raise the wheel barrow, he lost control and the wheel barrow began to fall into the empty pool. Employee #1 tried to stop the wheel barrow from falling, but was not successful. Employee #1 fell approximately eight-feet to the concrete pool bottom. Employee #1 was hospitalized from the event for fractures to his head and shoulders.
