Security Guard Fractures Ankle in Fall from Bicycle

At 12:30 p.m. on July 20, 2012, an employee was working as a security guard for a large amusement resort complex. He was on patrol, riding a bicycle. He was putting his radio up to his ear when he dropped the radio. The rear tire of the bicycle struck the radio, causing the employee to lose his balance and fall. He sustained a compound fracture of his right ankle, and he was hospitalized. The Division was notified by the employer of the injury at 6:03 p.m. that same day.
