Employee Breaks Leg in Fall with Equipment

On February 5, 2012, Employee #1 was working as an occasional, part-time employee for a small subcontractor that makes cuts in roadways for larger contractors that repair and install subsurface installations. Employee #1 was unloading a 48 horsepower Meco concrete saw from the tailgate of the service truck by himself. Employee #1 lost control of the concrete saw, and in an effort to protect the piece of equipment, he fell so that the concrete saw landed on top of him. Employee #1 fractured his left leg during the fall, and he was hospitalized for treatment of his injuries.
