Event: 11/25/2011
Employee Is Injured in Fall from Second Story Ledge

On November 25, 2011, Employee #1, a full-time, noncontract laborer employed by a painting contractor, was power washing a building, as part of preparation for painting. A worker inside the building heard Employee #1 hit the ground outside his window, and EMT (emergency medical technician) responders found Employee #1 on the ground, approximately 18 feet below a second story ledge. No one witnessed the accident. Employee #1 sustained fractures to multiple body parts, and he was hospitalized. The Division was notified that Employee #1 had suffered a serious injury on the same day it occurred. Employee #1 had not worn fall protection equipment.
