Employee Suffers Multiple Fractures in Fall from Roof

This accident occurred on 8-23-10 and DOSH became aware of it on 1-27-12. This employer is engaged in the installation of solar panels for the residential customers. Employee #1 was engaged in the installation of solar panels on the roof of a single family residence. He was pulling a wire while walking backwards on the roof when he fell about 11 feet onto a concrete floor in the back of the house. Employee #1 suffered fractured hip and fractured right ankle. Surgery was performed to repair the damage and he was hospitalized for 17 days. Employee #1 was not a contract employee.
