Investigation Summary
On August 1, 2011 Employee #1, a police officer of the City of Sandy, was parked on the south side of Highway 26 behind an ODOT Reader Sign watching for traffic violations. Employee #1 identified a vehicle speeding westbound on Highway 26. Employee #1 pulled out of the driveway that he was parked in, and attempted to perform a "U" turn across traffic. Employee #1 was hit by an eastbound vehicle on the driver's door. Employee #1 was transported to the hospital. Employee #1 was not admitted into the hospital, and was treated for minor injuries.
