Employee Amputates Finger While Using Radial Arm Saw

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on April 1, 2011, Employee #1, a cabinet maker, was cutting pieces of wood using a Maggi Junior 640 Radial Arm Saw, Serial Number 224689. While Employee #1 was cutting the 42nd piece of wood, for some reason, he reached in with his left hand and made contact with the rotating blade. Employee #1 cut the tip of his pinky finger at an angle and lacerated his ring finger. Employee #1 was transported to El Camino Hospital, where doctors completed the amputation of the pinky finger. Employee #1 was not hospitalized.
