Employee Amputates Fingers Using Table Saw

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on June 21, 2012, Employee #1, with the primary employer Decton Inc., was working at the Sheraton, the secondary employer. Employee #1 was ripping a piece of wood on a Delta table saw that was missing a guard. As Employee #1 pushed the piece of wood with the right hand and held the edge with the left hand, Employee #1's left hand encountered the saw blade. The plywood was little more than an in. thick, but the blade was set to 1.75 in. Employee #1 amputated his pinky finger and thumb tip on his left hand and was hospitalized.
