Employee Strikes Leg Against Object and Is Injured

At approximately 11:28 a.m. on November 1, 2012, Employee #1 was plugging in refrigerated intermodal shipping containers. He used a ladder to access one of the refrigerated intermodal shipping containers. As he descended the ladder, his left leg struck against a ladder rung, causing a deep and severe contusion. Employee #1 sustained an unspecified injury. He reported the incident to his supervisor, returned to work and completed his work shift. At approximately 11:00 pm that evening, Employee #1 experienced excruciating pain and took himself to a local hospital. He was admitted to the medical center and hospitalized for five days for treatment. The cause of the extend hospitalization was due to acute cellulites that developed in the leg from the severe contusion.
