Employee Fractures Hip in Fall When Shoe Lace Catches Drawer

On May 23, 2012, Employee #1, a receptionist, switched off the computer work station located in Examination Room Number 3. According to Employee #1, she abruptly swung left and her left shoe lace got caught on the work station drawer handle. Employee #1 tripped and fell, sustaining a left hip fracture. Employee #1 was admitted on May 23, 2012, was treated and later discharged on May 25, 2012 from Summit Medical Center, located in Oakland, California.
