Investigation Summary
At approximately 5:00 p.m. on July 2, 2011, Employee #1, a sales clerk, was working at the seafood counter in a supermarket. A step was located behind the seafood counter to give the employees height to interact with the customers. Employee #1 was standing on the step and took a step backwards. While stepping backwards, he tripped over his own foot and caught his shoe on the lip of the step. Employee #1 fell backwards and hit his head on the floor. He was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center. He was transferred the next day to Doctors Medical Center, and then released. There were no witnesses to the accident.
